Introduction

Problem

  • Indigenous people in Canada do not attain as many post-secondary credentials as non-Indigenous
  • Online education (OE) may increase access
    • students do not have to travel to attend
    • students can remain connected to the support of home
  • OE may be at odds with principles of Indigenous education (IE)
  • if OE is at odds with IE, then providing access to post-secondary education (PSE) through OE may be another example of colonialism
